Top Five-Star Reading Predictions!

It’s hard to make a five-star prediction.  In my own ratings, I have given far more four and three-star reviews out than I have perfect scores, as I reserve this rating for the books that are nearly flawless in my own eyes.  These are the reads that I tore through in a day or two and resonated with me for weeks after.  It’s not easy to predict what is going to have that effect on me in advance.  Still, I thought it would be fun to take a peek at a few books on my reading list, find the ones I have the best feelings about, and put them here for the world to see.  Later, when I have actually read all of these books, I’ll give a wrap-up on them and explain whether I was correct in my predictions.

diviners

The Diviners is set in the 1920s and features supernatural elements.  There honestly isn’t much I need to know beyond this in order to be sold.  This was actually recommended to me via Goodreads based on other titles that I have given five stars, so I have high hopes for this one!

final empire

Brandon Sanderson is on my list of ten authors I need to read, and he is probably the person that I am most eagerly anticipating reading.  Honestly, I hope that I love all of his books, so it was hard to figure out what specific title to put on this list, but I finally landed on The Final Empire.  The Mistborn series is held in high regard by fantasy fans and I can’t wait to give it a try!

Circe

I don’t read a lot of literary fiction, but it’s a genre that I am increasingly trying to break into.  This is a genre that can be pretty hit-or-miss for me, however, so I have to select the books I’m interested in reading carefully.  Circe is a retelling of ancient Greek myths, and as someone who absolutely adored Assassin’s Creed Odyssey last year, I really want to get more familiar with the history and culture surrounding this era of history.

The Hate U Give.jpg

Earlier this year, I read The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, and in spite of all of the hype surrounding it, I still adored the book and couldn’t wait to read more from the author in the future.  I’m hoping that The Hate U Give gives me a similar experience because I have heard nothing but wonderful things and can’t envision any reaction to this book that doesn’t involve completely falling in love.

Emma.jpg

Finally, due to some plans that I’m currently formulating for the month of May, I wanted to include at least one classic that I have high hopes for.  Persuasion is one of my favorite classics of all time and Clueless is one of my favorite movies.  In the cross-section of these two loves of mine is Emma, a Jane Austen novel that inspired the hit movie.  In general, I have high hopes for all of Austen’s works, but I have a particular interest in this book and can’t wait to give it a read!

That’s my list of expected five-star reads!  As with all of my other reading lists, when I actually finish all of these books, I hope to actually check in again and see what I ultimately rated these titles!  What books do you expect to be five-star reads?  Let me know in the comments below!

  1. Mistborn Mistborn Mistborn!! Can’t wait to see what you think of it 😀 It’s one of the best series out there. If you do audio books, I highly recommend doing The Diviners on audio. It completely makes the experience even better.
