Hey everyone! It’s been a while, but I did want to come back here for a quick post. I still write video game reviews, but instead of doing it as part of my blog, I write reviews for games I’m playing on my Backloggd account. Backloggd is a website for tracking video game backlogs, and I absolutely love it. As part of creating my account, I decided to start adding reviews to each game I play as a means to look back and see my thoughts on each title.
One thing that’s really nice for me about Backloggd, and why it’s overtaken using my blog to write these reviews, is I don’t feel any pressure to write a certain amount about each game. When I write a dedicated review, there’s always this feeling that I need to write a certain amount or it isn’t worth making a post in the first place. With Backloggd, though, it’s okay if not every review is exactly equal. There’s a much greater sense that I’m writing purely for myself, even if others can see my reviews.
Ultimately, maybe this post, combined with my previous absences from the blog, make it sound like I’ve totally abandoned The Hannie Corner. I promise that this isn’t true. I still love to come back here once in a while and write a new post about something I’m super passionate about. I’ve never heard of a site like that before. I mainly just keep track of my backlog through whatever shows up without any hours logged on Steam.

That’s also a great way to do it! I use it less for the backlog and more as an easier place to jot down my thoughts on my finished games than writing a whole blog post every single time.
